Foodini Club are proud contributors to the fab Aquila magazine for 7-12yr olds, delivering foodie editorial and recipes. We kicked off with the Summer 2018 bumper 25th anniversary edition and continued with the December Dickens Christmas issue! Then came the June 2019 'Cake' edition, nom nom.

Our first spread was all about gut health and included a special recipe for Gut Boosting Quesadillas, YUM... We dipped into Victorian street food history with our December recipe for Plum Duffins - a lighter take on the old English pudding that's the relative of our Christmas Pud. For the cake special we looked a little further into sugar and whether there is such a thing as a 'healthy' sugar, plus devised a recipe for one of the first kinds of cake - the upside down cake.

If you aren't already a subscriber to this brilliant magazine for brilliant young minds, go check them out! Back editions are available.

Quids In magazine is a quarterly guide to money saving ideas, designed for anyone on a low income. The idea is to provide info that people want to read, so they print a glossy read that mixes celeb interviews with easy-to-follow news and advice about money matters.

Foodini Club are chuffed to be contributing cost-saving ways to eat tasty food on a budget (plus giveaways!), and for the Summer edition 2018 also helped to create a shopping guide for 'Doomsday' meal planning included in the magazine and as an extended edition distributed digitally. Could you go a month without shopping for food?

At the start of 2018 we were featured on ITV news in a special report about calorie counting and kids healthy eating.

At Foodini Club we advocate that calorie counting does little to support healthy eating, as different children need different calories depending on many factors like metalobism, physical and mental activity. Calories are a limited way to value health, as they don't reflect the quality of the food being eaten at all. Instead we need to promote balanced eating with less reliance on high-calorie /low nurtition grains and sugars and eat more plants!

Foodini Club held an event in October 2017 in Brighton called Pumpkin Rescue which was all about learning how to carve, cook and eat pumpkin instead of throwing it away. We spent 3 hours with around 30 local children and their parents having fun and making a lot of mess with pumpkin, while cooking 2 tasty recipes - Monster Cookies and Pumplings. By the end the children had eaten plenty of pumpkin, some for the first time!

We were filmed and featured on BBC South East, plus CBBC's Newsround made a video all about the event and featured the recipe for Monster Cookies which was screened on TV around Halloween and on the BBC website.
